Board Descriptions The Conduct Board is comprised solely of student members. This board hears the majority of conduct cases (with the exception of academic integrity violations) and determines student responsibility as well as appropriate sanctions, if necessary. These students are selected by a University committee and serve one-year terms. They undergo an extensive training process and provide a valuable service to the University community. Decisions made by this board may be appealed to the Administrative Board. All cases resulting in suspension or expulsion have a final appeal to the dean of students.
The Administrative Board is comprised of University faculty and staff members. This board hears initial cases of a grave or time-sensitive nature, with the exception of academic integrity cases. They also serve as an appeal board for Conduct Board cases. Cases originating with this board may be appealed to the Appeals Board. All cases resulting in suspension or expulsion have a final appeal to the dean of students.
The Appeals Board is comprised of University faculty and staff. This board hears appeals from the Administrative Board. Members on this board may not have been members of the Administrative Board. All cases resulting in suspension or expulsion have a final appeal to the dean of students.
The Academic Integrity Committee is comprised of University faculty and students.
This board hears cases referred to the conduct system for violations of Article 2 – Academic Integrity. All decisions of the Academic Integrity Committee are final.
