The former dean of students told the audience to think of all the images that accompany the Wild West and apply it to women at UT more than 50 years ago. 

March 9, 2007 - Evolutionary Painter Makes Mark on UT Campus - Just like the monoprints Sam Gilliam is creating at Studio-f this week, the artist is one-of-a-kind. “I have my own way,” he said as he watched his work being hung in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery the first week in March.  

March 2, 2007 - Speaker Makes Diversity Awareness Accessible in the “Real World” - The first step toward diversity awareness is admitting you have a problem, according to Mohammed Bilal, a cast member of MTV’s reality show the Real World San Francisco. A diversity consultant, Bilal spoke about the topic in the Reeves Theater.

Feb. 19, 2007 - Event Stamps Passport to Understanding [Slide Show] - Sporting a sari and a jeweled bindi, Phillip represented India on Feb. 16 as part of a Global Village Simulation in the Bob Martinez Sports Center, where students presented traditional music, food, clothing and culture from 33 countries.
