Saxophone Quartet Gives Free Concert at UT

Published: April 14, 2008
The Bay Area Saxophone Quartet will perform a free concert at The University of Tampa on Sunday, April 27, at 4 p.m. in the Plant Hall Grand Salon. The one-hour concert will celebrate the group’s 24 years of making music together.

Appealing to most any musical taste, from classical to jazz, the Bay Area Saxophone Quartet always seems to find a way to delight its audience. Included will be selections from Bach, Bozza, Debussy, Grainger, Wiedoeft, and Rodgers and Hart.

Musicians Jay B. Starkey, Terry Mohn, James Burge, and Ted Hope have appeared in many venues over the past 24 years, but their favorite is the Grand Salon of Plant Hall on the picturesque University of Tampa Campus. This may be the last time to catch them in this magnificent setting, as Mohn retires from teaching at UT this spring. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience one of our region’s most long-standing musical treasures. For more information, call (813) 253-6212.
