Rogelio Morales-Garcia, an MBA student at The University of Tampa, has been awarded the Orgullo Juvenil Hispano Award by the Hispanic Youth Voice of Tampa for outstanding academic performance and for being a leader in the community.

The award was presented at the Orgullo Juvenil Hispano 2007 gala on Oct. 18, 2007 at the Centro Asturiano de Tampa.

Prior to starting the MBA program, Morales-Garcia worked for Nestle Venezuela.  During his five years at Nestle, Morales-Garcia held such positions as sales representative, demand planner and supply chain specialist. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello.

Morales-Garcia, of Caracas, Venezuela, is also a recipient of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) scholarship. The NSHMBA prepares Hispanics for leadership positions throughout the U.S., so that they can provide the cultural awareness and sensitivity vital in the management of the nation’s diverse workforce.
