Presenting Multi-Faceted Artist in Piano Recital

International pianist, director, actor and author Marc Taslit performs a solo guest artist piano recital in UT’s Plant Hall Grand Salon on Thursday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Taslit has been called "an exhilarating pianist!" by the New York Times  and "Maestro!" by Placido Domingo. His performances have taken him to Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Canada and throughout the U.S. He has piano performance degrees from Indiana University, where he later was director of piano accompanying, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. He has served as chair of three college piano departments.

Taslit also has studied and taught acting at two professional acting studios in Los Angeles, and he has acted in films and on stage in the U.S. and Europe. Melding his expertise in the two fields, he has directed operas by Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti. He also has published articles on music, acting and memorization, and his book on acting will be published later this year.

At the UT recital, Taslit will perform works by Mozart, J.S. Bach, Schubert, Chopin and Liszt, as well as an original arrangement of Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue."
