New Education Outreach Partnership

Published: July 26, 2001
The University of Tampa has linked with JPMorgan Chase in an education program to enhance job performance and skills within the professional business community.  Chase approached UT with the proposal, and when the University got involved, it joined rare company: Cornell University is Chase’s partner for a similar program in New York.

The program is intended for Chase employees who previously were unable to complete college degrees before joining the workforce.  Eligible applicants will be Chase employees (non-officers) with at least one year of service, a performance rating of 3 or higher, and good attendance and punctuality records.  Only 25 employees will be chosen to participate each academic year (August-June).  Accepted candidates will pay only for their books and materials.  Tuition will be paid by Chase.

Classes begin this month and will be taught by full-time UT faculty  at Chase’s new conference center on Independence Parkway.  The program will be managed by UT’s School of Continuing Studies with direct involvement by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the John H. Sykes College of Business.
