Sapp’s images, several inches tall and in groups of 500-1,000, energize the space they occupy as they appear to run and push, struggling to reach the top of the heap. Large photographic wall panels (4x20’ and 4x24’) function as story boards to echo the theme of man as beast.
William Sapp has exhibited throughout the United States and South America. His works are included in many corporate and private collections. Feat of Clay runs through Feb. 28.
The Scarfone/Hartley Galleries are located on the UT campus at the corner of Brevard and North B streets. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday, closed on national holidays. Admission is free.
