Mission Statement

The mission of the music department at The University of Tampa is to prepare music students for careers or graduate study in teaching, performing and related areas, and to prepare students for lifelong participation in the enjoyment of music.

The mission is also to enrich the academic and cultural life of all members of the University community through music course offerings, performance opportunities, and concert presentations.

For the greater community, the mission is to serve as consultants and clinicians to the public schools and arts organizations, to perform through outreach presentations, and to provide opportunities for musicians to refresh and sharpen their skills.
