Ensembles at the University provide opportunities for students to perform on campus, in the community and in other parts of the country. Collegiate Chorale (36 singers)
Collegiate Chorale is a select mixed chorus. This vocal ensemble sings traditional and contemporary choral music and is the featured ensemble at UT’s annual Family Christmas Concert
Opus (12 singers)
Opus is a select ensemble of mixed voices. The repertoire comes mostly from musical theater. The popular group presents a major program each semester that features ensemble pieces, as well as solos and duets. In addition to campus concerts, Opus often performs for UT events and special events in the Tampa Bay area. The ensemble also tours the northeastern U.S. with admissions counselors during spring break.
Tampa Oratorio Chorus (65-70 singers)
The Tampa Oratorio Chorus is a community/university chorus in residence at The University of Tampa.
Chamber Orchestra (20-24 musicians)
The Chamber Orchestra performs a traditional to modern repertoire for small orchestra. Membership is by audition.
Wind Ensemble (54-60 musicians)
A premiere wind and percussion ensemble, the UT Wind Esnemble performs up to four concerts each semester. Repertoire includes music from all style periods, ranging from traditional major works to the latest compositions for full band and variable-sized wind ensembles. The UT Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble take a 3-4 day concert tour in the southeastern U.S. each spring semester. Membership is by audition.
Jazz Ensemble (18-24 musicians)
A big-band of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section that plays everything from traditional swing charts to contemporary jazz. The UT Jazz Ensemble performs two to three times each semester. The UT Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble take a 3-4 day concert tour in the southeastern U.S. each spring semester. Membership is by audition.
Pep Band (30-45 musicians)
As the “Stewards of UT Spirit,” the Pep Band performs up-tempo popular tunes at a variety of University and community events. The Pep Band consists of woodwinds, brass, and rhythm section. This ensemble is open to all UT students with high school band experience.
Performance Class
Piano students prepare and perform a variety of solo works, accompaniments, piano concerti, and multiple piano pieces.
Chamber Ensembles
Small ensembles at UT include Clarinet Choir, Double Reed Ensemble, Saxophone Quartet, Brass Quintet, Low Brass Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and Guitar Ensemble.
