Fourth Year Undergraduate Pre-professional Biology, Chemistry and Business Administration minors
Bonita Springs, FL seberry@ut.edu I recently completed Honors tutorials in Organic Chemistry and Physiology. For my Organic Chemistry tutorial, I spent several hours a week in the lab collaborating with Professor John Struss on our project, “Benzylic Brominations using Polymeric DABCO Bromine Complex.” After completing our research, I presented the project as part of the Chemistry Seminar Series. For my Physiology tutorial, I wrote a research paper titled “The Neurobiology of Learning and Memory in Insects.”
The University of Tampa’s Honors Program has allowed me to gain a better understanding of my area of study, while also providing the opportunity to become closely acquainted with my professors. I feel that the experience has allowed me to take away more from my classes than if I had not been enrolled in the Honors Program. I plan to complete two more Honors tutorials in order to graduate with Honors distinction. The Honors Program is intellectually challenging and well worth the extra requirements.
Honors Courses Taken CHE 234 - Organic Chemistry II (Tutorial, Spring 2007)
BIO 330 - General Physiology (Tutorial, Fall 2007)
