Fourth Year Undergraduate International Business and Management
Goldsboro, NC (born in Ukraine) - Honors at Oxford Participant
- Harvard Model UN Participant
ngrygoryeva@ut.edu In the spring of 2007, I joined 15 talented students from The University of Tampa’s Honors Program to attend one of the most prominent student conferences in the world, The Harvard National Model UN. After being involved in Model UN activities during my freshman year, I knew that participating in the Harvard Model UN would allow me to expand my knowledge of our global society. I also felt that the experience would fit well with my International Business major.
The event well exceeded my expectations. The experience allowed me to engage in spirited debate with my fellow students, which led to the creation of practical solutions to some real-world problems. One of the greatest benefits of participating in the Harvard National Model UN is the ability to search for viable answers to prominent questions concerning human rights, nuclear testing, terrorism, poverty and other important issues. The understanding of such issues has become increasingly important in the modern world.
Harvard Model UN is one of the most beneficial activities in which Honors students may get involved. The stimulating debates allow for the development of better communication skills as students get to meet and learn from other top students from around the world at this incredible four-day event. At the same time, students are able to form close ties with their fellow Honors students at The University of Tampa.
