The Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Arts combines critical studies with production experiences in film and media arts. Blending “story” with “technology,” students examine critical perspectives and practice implementing techniques in traditional 16 mm film and emerging digital formats.
Film and media arts majors are instructed by prominent faculty whose films have screened at Cannes, Sundance, and Toronto Film Festivals, and who has worked with film legend Jean-Luc Godard. Students have access to state-of-the-art cameras, production and post-production facilities, Mac G5 digital work stations and Final Cut Pro editing software.
Students work individually and in teams to write, shoot, direct, produce, and edit their own films. Those interested in cinema studies will find an array of history and theory classes, including American Cinema, World Cinema, and Women, Film and Popular Culture.
